BLET National President

CLEVELAND, December 23 — At this special time of the year, I am happy to extend to all BLET members, officers, staff, and their families my sincere best wishes for a Happy Holiday season and a prosperous, safe and happy New Year.

As BLET members, let us be thankful for the blessings we have enjoyed in 2014 and look forward to new energy in the coming year. The BLET National Division and Advisory Board will invest much of our energies in negotiating a new national contract and finding new ways to strengthen our organization. The New Year will also bring many other challenges before our Brotherhood as we maintain constant vigilance to enforce our contracts and to protect the rights of our membership from the perpetual threats that seem to always arise.

Our members are the true heart of our Brotherhood, but sometimes we may forget just how much we mean to one another. To me, the BLET is like a family: we may have different views, but we always have the same goal — to provide the best representation possible for our Brothers and Sisters. There is no better time than the holiday season to cement that oneness of purpose that has existed in our Brotherhood since it was founded over 151 years ago.

While I wish that all BLET members would have the opportunity to spend the holiday with their loved ones, I salute the sacrifice of those who are required to work.

On behalf of the BLET National Division, the Executive Committee and the Advisory Board, I wish all BLET members, officers, staff and their families a happy and safe holiday season.
