Head of NJ Transit tells Senate panel that Sandy caused approximately $400 million in damages

NEWARK, N.J. — Hurricane Sandy caused nearly $400 million worth of damage to NJ Transit, including more than $100 million for waterlogged trains and rail equipment, the agency’s executive director told a U.S. Senate panel today.
