GLOVER, Mo. — Missouri Route 49 near the southeast Missouri town Glover is open again.

The highway was closed around noon yesterday when three Unioin Pacific locomotives derailed. The highway reopened at around 9:30 last night.

No official word on the cause of the derailment, but a Union Pacific spokesman says heavy rain in the area may have saturated the ground and highway pavement, and the weight of the train may have forced the tracks to sink into the pavement.

No one was hurt.
