CLEVELAND, March 7 — Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers International President Don M. Hahs met yesterday at the Teamsters headquarters in Washington, D.C. to discuss a possible merger or affiliation.

On February 26, the BLE’s Advisory Board approved a motion to allow the Executive Committee to explore a possible merger or affiliation with the Teamsters. It would give locomotive engineers membership in the largest union in the AFL-CIO and the largest transportation union in North America.
