CLEVELAND, July 27 — International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa is attending the Democratic National Convention in Boston this week as a delegate from Michigan, and will address the Convention today at 5:45 p.m.
In addition, General President Hoffa will make four national television appearances this afternoon and evening. They are as follows:
4 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: The Tom Brokaw Show, MSNBC
5 p.m.-5:30 p.m.: The Wolf Blitzer Show, CNN
5:45 p.m.: C-Span
7 p.m.-8 p.m.: Hardball w/Chris Matthews, MSNBC
About 50 BLET and Teamster representatives are in attendance, including: Mike Mathis, IBT Director of Government Affairs; Fred McCluckie, IBT Political Director; and Carl DiPietro, IBT State Legislative Coordinator, East Region.
Leaders of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen are also in attendance, including National President Don Hahs; First Vice-President Ed Rodzwicz; Political & Legislative Director John Tolman; Massachusetts State Legislative Board Chairman George Newman; and Division 125 (Clinton, Iowa) Legislative Representative Pat Johnson. Brother Johnson is serving as a Democratic Party representative from his home state.
President Hahs met with AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and several prominent Senators and Representatives. President Hahs, along with Vice-President Rodzwicz and Chairman Newman, met with President Bill Clinton this morning.
