CLEVELAND, May 30 — Alan L. Humphries was unanimously elected Chairman of the Idaho State Legislative Board at meetings in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Brother Humphries, a member of Division 228 (Pocatello, Idaho), previously served as First Vice Chairman of the Board and replaces Steve Brumbaugh as Chairman. Brother Humphries has been a member of the BLET since 2005 and works for the Union Pacific Railroad.

Also elected by acclamation at the meeting were: First Vice Chairman Steve W. Brumbaugh, Division 676 (Nampa, Idaho); and Secretary-Treasurer Jim Underwood, Division 228 (Pocatello, Idaho).

BLET National President Dennis Pierce sent his thanks to former Chairman Steve Brumbaugh for his continued service to the Board and congratulated Brother Humphries and all officers on their election.

“I have great confidence that Alan and all members of the Board will continue to do an excellent job working on legislative and political issues that are of great importance to BLET members in Idaho,” President Pierce said.

BLET Vice President & National Legislative Representative John Tolman said: “Brother Humphries has long taken an active role in our union’s political and legislative agenda. I know that he and all members of the Idaho State Legislative Board will continue their excellent work in the state.”

Also in attendance at the meeting was Brother Thomas P. Thompson, Legislative Representative of Division 113 (Twin Falls, Idaho).

The BLET’s Idaho State Legislative Board represents nearly 300 locomotive engineers and trainmen throughout the state.
