The BLET Education & Training Department recently completed another successful hybrid training class for Division Secretary-Treasurers, with 40 members participating both in person at the National Division Training Center and virtually via Zoom.

Participants, including several Division Presidents, received training in key areas such as the UnionTrack membership reporting system, payroll reporting and tax compliance, and Department of Labor LM-3 and LM-4 forms. They also reviewed the ENGAGE communications platform and upcoming web-based application changes designed to make the Secretary-Treasurer’s role more efficient.

Under the leadership of National Secretary-Treasurer David Estes, the Education & Training Department has expanded its offerings by embracing hybrid learning. While in-person instruction remains the preferred format, the Zoom option provides valuable access for members unable to travel.

Classroom instructors included Megan Mead, Director of the Record and Compliance Department; Walt Schmidt, Director of the Online Services Department; and NST Estes. Also present were Luke Myers, Director of Bylaws Administration; Matt Kronyak, Special Representative/Director of Mobilization–Eastern Region; Rich Bartela, Special Representative/Auditor; and Kimm Bunch, Government Relations Specialist.

Reflecting on the training, Division 213 (Edgemont, S.D.) Secretary-Treasurer Cal Arnold, nine months into his role, said: “It provided me with the knowledge and tools to perform my duties more efficiently. In addition, I now have a network of other Division S-Ts and BLET Officers and Staff.”
