NEWARK, N.J. — A new study found that ridership on NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line dipped sharply in the year between summer 2012 and 2013, dropping 12.9 percent, while the number of people riding competing ferries and buses grew. Ridership on the North Jersey Coast Line — the line most used by Monmouth and Ocean County commuters — has seen the biggest drop-off in customers.
