MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie, Ind., landlord and business owner raised a stink Monday over a heap of waste apparently left last week by a Norfolk Southern train, prompting an investigation by Delaware County Health Department officials who said the railroad company was in the process of cleaning the mess up.
Just last summer, a similar pile of excrement was left by a train a few feet west from where it sat Monday. Ginder said in that instance, she called Norfolk Southern officials, who cleaned up the mess and said it wouldn’t happen again.
When asked about the waste dump Monday afternoon, Rudy Husband, director of public relations for Norfolk Southern, was at first hesitant to believe his company’s train was responsible for leaving the mess.
