JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The JaxPort board on Friday awarded a $23.5 million construction contract to Jacksonville-based Dana B. Kenyon Company for the design and construction of the yard, which is called an “intermodal container transfer facility.” It will give the port faster access to markets since it would no longer have to be trucked dozens of miles away to and from CSX or Norfolk Southern’s intermodal facilities on the west side of Jacksonville.
