JERSEYVILLE, Ill. — Twelve residents were issued citations Wednesday for disobeying railroad crossing signals in an Operation Lifesaver program conducted jointly by the Jerseyville Police Department and the Kansas City Southern Railroad.
Jerseyville Police Chief Brad Blackorby said he was contacted by Kansas City Southern to gauge his interest in participating in their Officer on a Train event and was happy to have the opportunity to participate.
