CLEVELAND, July 22 — Southwestern Convention Meeting (SWCM) Host Chairman Mike Zenner of BLET Division 130 cordially invites everyone to Kansas City, Mo., on September 13-17 for the 74th SWCM at the Hyatt Crown Center.
Events include a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on Sunday, September 13, a golf tournament at Adams Point Golf Club on Monday, September 14, and a night of gambling and dinner at the Ameristar Casino on Tuesday, September 15.
For those who don’t golf, other events on September 14 include a tour of the Arabia Steamboat, shopping at The Plaza and Crown Center and exhibits and shows at Union Station.
The SWCM banquet, with entertainment by The Atlantic Express band, is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, September 16.
Other events include a welcome reception (September 14), radiation training workshop (September 14), and workshops for BLET Local Chairmen, Secretary-Treasurers and Legislative Representatives (September 16).
A special workshop on the new Hours of Service regulations is slated for September 16, and hazardous materials workshop is scheduled for September 16.

Early-bird registration for the SWCM is August 31, 2009. After that date, registration fees will increase by $25 per person. The first 250 attendees to register will be given a commemorative T-shirt.
