KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Southern (KCS) announced today that The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR) network is experiencing service disruptions in east Texas and significant portions of Louisiana, due to heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

Service disruptions began on March 9. KCS is monitoring the situation closely and working diligently to quickly make repairs and restore service. KCS expects to be able to restore service in some areas of Louisiana this week, with some outages likely extending into next week.

KCS is keeping customers apprised of the situation via the Customer Solutions Centers in Kansas City, Mo. and Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and with regular service status updates sent via email to customers and made available to the public at http://www.kcsouthern.com/en-us/customer-resources/service-status-updates

In response to disasters big and small, like the flooding in Louisiana and Texas, Kansas City Southern will make a contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund to help people prepare, respond and recover.
