KANSAS CITY, Mo. — According to Reuters, Kansas City Southern has settled an insurance claim for damages caused by Hurricane Alex, which hit the railroad’s Mexican unit in central Mexico in June 2010. Reuters also reports that as a result of the $66 million insurance settlement, the railroad is expected to be in the black for the third quarter of 2011.
