KANSAS CITY, Mo. — John S. Jacobsen has been named as vice president and chief engineer for Kansas City Southern, the company announced today.
The appointment of Jacobson, who Jacobsen is now responsible for engineering and maintenance of way for The Kansas City Southern Railway Company, was effective Aug. 1.
A 38-year veteran of the railroad industry, Jacobson has been with Kansas City Southern since 1993. He previously serviced vice president and chief engineer and since 2001, has provided ongoing consultation to KCSR subsidiary Superior Tie and Timber.
