The BLET and Teamsters Rail Conference recently launched a petition in support of the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act (H.R. 5475) with the goal of securing at least 8,000 signatures. The proposed bill would provide BLET members and all rail workers with the same overtime tax relief that most other workers received through the “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed in July 2025. Under the proposed bill, workers employed by railroads would be able to deduct up to $25,000 of overtime pay from their annual income for tax purposes.
The signed petition primarily from BLET and BMWED members will be presented to leaders of the House Ways and Means Committee, the congressional committee with jurisdiction over the overtime tax legislation.
The petition gained over 5,800 signatures in less than one week. If you haven’t already signed, please help keep the momentum going by taking a couple of minutes to sign the petition.
Congress is beginning to consider a second “reconciliation” package that could contain legislation related to taxes, including the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act. Now is the time to make our voice heard.
