KINGMAN, Ariz. — John Kerry has wrapped up the train portion of his cross-country trip, telling supporters in Arizona he would lead America’s war on terrorism with military might and diplomacy.
The Democratic presidential nominee told a crowd of about three-thousand in Kingman that the battle is fought “by reaching out to the world.”

Kerry touted his Vietnam experience, saying he will use the lessons he learned in southeast Asia to defend the country if elected president.

Kerry now switches from a train to a bus — heading next to Nevada.

Pollsters say the presidential race is close in Arizona, where Republicans hold a five-percent voter registration advantage over Democrats.

President Bush is scheduled to campaign in Phoenix Wednesday — his third trip to the state since January.
