(John Kerry issued the following statement on March 24.)

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator John Kerry released the following statement today regarding the Bush Administration’s attempt to change overtime rules and deny millions of Americans deserved overtime pay. Today the Republican-controlled Senate refused to even cast a vote on U.S. Senator Tom Harkin’s (D-IA) amendment to restore overtime pay for American workers.

“Once again, Republicans have put the profits of big business ahead of the pay that 8 million American workers have earned. It’s time for the Bush Administration to change priorities, from rewarding wealthy Americans and big corporations, to rewarding hardworking Americans and creating jobs.”
