MONTREAL — When a train derailed in Lac-Mégantic on July 6, millions of litres of crude oil were spilled in the town’s downtown core, into the lake that gives the town its name, and into the nearby Chaudière River. A month later, the extent of the environmental impact of the accident is still being assessed.
