WASHINGTON, D.C. — Ray LaHood, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, warned that Congressional inactivity regarding a Federal Aviation Administration bill would be harmful to U.S. workers and the economy. If the measure is not approved by Congress this evening (Friday, July 22), about 4,000 FAA employees will be furloughed and the government will lose about $200 million per week in airline taxes.
