SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Utah is about to throw a big celebration for the 150th anniversary of the May 10, 1869, completion of the transcontinental railroad. Many realize it was built largely by Chinese immigrants for the Central Pacific and Irish for the Union Pacific. But a third group provided key workers for both railroads: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
