BEAVER, Pa. — New details are emerging in a lawsuit filed against Norfolk Southern, which accuses the railroad of an ongoing pattern of covering up work-related injuries by falsely accusing employees of lying and then firing them.
The lawsuit claims Norfolk Southern officials failed to train two track workers on how to properly install a new piece of equipment, partly because they didn’t even know how themselves. The two men were injured installing a new type of retarder.
Additionally, the suit claims Norfolk Southern officials pressured workers who witnessed the accident to change their accounts of what happened to shift the blame to employee error.
