CINCINNATI, Ohio — The family of a local man killed in a train crash is suing CSX Corporation for unspecified damages, television station WCPO reported.
CSX employee Gary Oak, a 29-year veteran of the company, was working last week when he was hit and killed by a train.
Investigators said Oak, of Carrollton, Kentucky, was driving a company pickup truck in the Queensgate railyard when an automated train backed into him, dragging his body.
“For these family members to think that their father or brother had to suffer through three football fields of physical and mental torture, this is been devastating to the family,” said Covington attorney Philip Taliafero who is representing the family.
Taliafero, who filed the lawsuit Friday on behalf of his clients, said CSX is cooperating and he is planning to meet with a company representative to exchange information about the crash.
