SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A locomotive derailed at the rail yard in Roseville Friday morning.
Union Pacific officials said it happened about 8:25 a.m., when seven locomotives were on a service track and for unknown reasons they rolled free and over a safety device at the end of the track.
The safety device caused one of the locomotives to derail and also punctured a fuel tank, spilling 500 gallons of diesel fuel.
No injuries or evacuations have been reported.
