MIAMI — Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find those who stole a CSX 120-ton locomotive over the weekend, a CSX Railroad spokesman said Tuesday.
The diesel locomotive disappeared from the Kendall area late Sunday night, where it was parked in storage while awaiting assignment, CBS 4 reported. Railroad personnel and Miami-Dade County police found the missing train early Monday about 7 miles away, near Homestead, according to the station.
“We don’t know what the intentions were and don’t know what the individual or group of individuals planned,” CSX spokesman Gary Sease said. “We are appealing for anyone who might’ve seen anything in the area.
