MONTREAL — Don’t buy your high-speed train ticket to New York just yet – wait another 10, 20, or possibly 30 years.
That’s when a viable high-speed corridor between Montreal and the Big Apple might be actually be financed in the real world, Raymond Chrétien said Wednesday at the Conference of Montreal.
A panellist at a forum entitled Shaping the future: North American Partnerships, the Quebec government’s emissary for negotiations with the U.S. on high-speed rail, said that there are many stumbling blocks to overcome before the old dream becomes reality.
