FRESNO, Calif. — A railroad track closure caused by the derailment of a Union Pacific train in Madera on Saturday morning has been cleared.
The derailment occurred about 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the Gateway Drive exit of Highway 99, said Union Pacific spokesman Aaron Hunt. The 15-car train spilled grain. It did not contain any hazardous materials, and no one was hurt, Hunt said.
The area was cleared of grain and the track was repaired. Train traffic resumed about 6 a.m. Sunday.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation, Hunt said.
