Local reaction and input is sought on the proposed high-speed, magnetic-levitation train that would run from Greensburg, Westmoreland County, to downtown Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh International Airport.

On Tuesday, from noon-4 p.m., a meeting is set for Station Square.

On Wednesday, the meeting will take place from 5-8 p.m. at Gateway High School in Monroeville.

On Feb. 5, from 5-8 p.m., the Findlay Recreation Center in Imperial will host a meeting.

On Feb. 6, from 5-8 p.m., the Four Points Sheraton in Greensburg will host a meeting.

Pittsburgh and Baltimore-Washington are competing for $950 million in federal funding to build a maglev demonstration project, with a winner to be named in two years.

Maglev has said in the past that the Pittsburgh region has the landscape, workforce and technological base to make the project work in western Pennsylvania.
