Maine lawmakers seek to preserve Downeaster funding

PORTLAND, Maine — In a bruising battle over federal transportation funds on Capitol Hill, Maine’s congressional delegation is trying to cling to monies used to operate one of the state’s biggest transit success stories — the Amtrak Downeaster train service.
