SALEM, Ore. — Some Amtrak passenger trains traveling to Portland and Eugene from Wednesday to Aug. 2 may be delayed or canceled because of maintenance work on railroad tracks.

The work will require periodic 10-hour “work windows,” during which train service will be suspended.

Here is the planned work schedule: Wednesday through June 8; June 16 through June 23; July 1 through July 7; July 16 through July 23; and Aug. 1 and Aug. 2.

Passengers on trains that are canceled will receive bus tickets. During the work dates, Amtrak Cascades trains 504 and 509 will not operate. Passengers will be bused between Portland and Eugene.

Trains 11 and 14, also known as the Coast Starlight, will operate during the work schedule. However, they will be delayed about two hours in each direction.
