BROOKFIELD, Wisc. — Police say a 70-year-old Brookfield man died Monday when he drove his vehicle past closed crossing gates and into the path of an Amtrak train. The man drove around a vehicle that was stopped ahead of him, and then tried driving through the opening between the two barricade arms, which were down and flashing warning lights.
