SAN ANTONIO — One man was killed early Wednesday morning when he was struck by a train on the Northeast Side, officials said.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was killed around 2 a.m. on the Union Pacific railroad tracks near Interstate 35 and Walzem Road, according to the Bexar County medical examiner’s office.
San Antonio police and railroad officials were investigating the death, and it was not immediately clear why the man was on the train tracks. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to determine how the man died.
