FOSTORIA, Ohio — A report of a man walking along the CSX tracks with an assault rifle west of Fostoria briefly held up trains Tuesday morning, authorities said.

CSX officials called the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office at 9:14 a.m. and reported that they were holding the trains because a man with what looked like an AK-47 was seen walking along the tracks just before the time of the call, said a sheriff’s office dispatcher.

Sheriff’s deputies searched the area, found no one matching the man’s description, and reported it back to CSX officials at 9:41 a.m., about which time the trains began moving, the dispatcher said.

CSX officials could not be reached for comment.

Fostoria is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
