EAST PALESTINE, Ohio — Two videos obtained by the National Transportation Safety Board showed preliminary indications of a possible mechanical issue with one of the rail car axles before a Norfolk Southern train derailed Friday in East Palestine. NTSB has interviewed members of the train crew. The crew included three members comprised of the engineer, conductor and conductor trainee. None of them were injured and no injuries were reported at the scene. After the derailment, the crew was able to disconnect the engine from the rail cars and move a safe distance away.
