CHICAGO — Metra has scheduled extra afternoon trains today from its downtown terminals for the holiday.

Trains from Chicago to Aurora on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line will leave Union Station at 12:25 p.m. and 1:28 p.m. Express trains to Naperville on the Burlington Northern will leave at 2:25 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 3:50 p.m.

An extra Milwaukee North train to Lake Forest leaves at 2:25 p.m.

Two additional Milwaukee West trains will leave Union Station at 2:20 p.m. and 3:25 p.m.

On the Rock Island, there will be a 2:10 p.m. train to Mokena and a 3:40 p.m. to Joliet.

A Union Pacific North train is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. Three additional Union Pacific Northwest line trains leave the Ogilvie Transportation Center at 2:25 p.m., 3:10 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. The Union Pacific West has extra trains scheduled for 2:25 p.m. and 3:25 p.m.

Some trains will be canceled: No. 921 on the Heritage Corridor; No. 2237 on Milwaukee West; No. 413 on the Rock Island; No. 337 on the Union Pacific North; Nos. 635, 641, 645 on the Union Pacific Northwest and Nos. 51 and 55 on the Union Pacific West.
