NEW YORK — From now on, when Metro-North Railroad employees are working on tracks, the dispatcher will not be able to send trains through until receiving a specific code. The precaution comes with a new safety effort, the Enhanced Employee Protection System, which the railroad finished putting in place this month. It comes after the death a rail worker last year.
