WASHINGTON — Metro Transit Police officers will conduct an exercise at a Metrorail station Friday morning to boost visibility on the first anniversary of the London subway bombings.

Metro isn’t announcing the station location until 7:30 a.m.

The program began in February, and officers have conducted random inspections at several stations – including Stadium-Armory, Columbia Heights, Foggy Bottom and East Falls Church.

In the past, about two dozen officers have spread out along the platform and inspected all trains passing through the station.

Passengers have said they were startled by the sight of so many officers.

Last summer’s London bombings, which brought carnage to three Underground trains, killed 52 commuters and injured 700.
