LOS ANGELES — A Metrolink locomotive derailed inside a rail yard near downtown Thursday. No one was injured, but the train blocked some tracks, delaying commuter rail service for up to an hour.

Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrrell said the cause was unknown but being probed.

The derailment occurred about noon at Taylor Yard near Union Station. By midafternoon, the locomotive had been “re-railed” and Metrolink service was back to normal, Tyrrell said.
