Rep. John L. Mica, R-Fla., chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, is keeping his word to go on the road to collect ideas for a new multiyear transportation bill, while at the same time educating new House members on transportation issues.

The committee on Tuesday released a list of locations for public forums, beginning on Feb. 14. Other dates will be added later.

The first meeting will be held in Beckley, W.Va., home of Rep. Nick Rahall, the ranking Democrat on the committee. Another meeting will take place in Los Angeles, where House members will be joined by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
