COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Authorities were called to a minor train derailment Monday in southern Brazos County after a grain car ran off the tracks, state troopers said.
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe train had been traveling alongside F.M. 159 near Allen Farm when the engineer put the train in reverse, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports. That’s when the grain car left the track, according to officials, who said it was unclear why the engineer made such a maneuver.
Railroad officials were called to the scene to get the car back on the tracks. No injuries or property damage was reported.
