WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Mediation Board (NMB) is pleased to announce that Ms. LoValerie Mullins will join the agency’s Office of Mediation Services on June 20, 2011, as Mediator–ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution). Primarily, in this capacity, she will assist the Senior Mediator of ADR in the development and delivery of ADR services and training programs to labor-management parties in the airline and railroad industries and internally to NMB staff.
The National Mediation Board is an independent Federal agency established by the Railway Labor Act, which governs labor-management relations of nearly 500 railroads and 100 airlines in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories.
LoValerie brings to the agency’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program seven years of training and experience in mediating cases and in coaching legal professionals and organizations using a variety of conciliation methods and techniques. She has published articles on the topics of mediating natural resource issues and improving workplace mediation practices.Her most recent experience includes Mediation Coaching with the Center for Dispute Resolution and an Externship with Campus Mediation Services.
Ms. Mullins earned her Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law and an LL.M. degree from the University of Missouri’s Dispute Resolution Program. Additionally, she is certified as a Federal Workplace and Commercial Mediator.
