CLEVELAND, March 11 — The BLET’s National Association of State Legislative Board Chairmen (NASLBC) will conduct their annual meeting in Mobile, Ala., from April 14-17, 2010.
All BLET State Legislative Board Chairmen convene annually for the purposes of sharing legislative issues and ideas as well as offering assistance to newly elected Chairmen.
Meetings are conducted in an open forum and associate BLET officers are always welcomed to attend and partake in the activities (except closed meetings). While portions of the meeting are closed to allow State Chairmen to conduct official business, other portions are open to invited BLET officers, members and spouses.
Officers from the BLET National Division have been invited to attend and make informational presentations, including National President Paul Sorrow, First Vice President Dennis Pierce, National Secretary-Treasurer Bill Walpert, and Vice President and National Legislative Representative John Tolman.
“Our host State Legislative Board Chairman is Tommy Hudson and the members of his Legislative Board,” said NASLBC Chairman Tim Smith. “We are looking forward to the gracious southern hospitality offered by our good Brothers and Sisters of Alabama.”
The 2010 NASLBC meeting will take place at the Battle House, a Marriott hotel property, located at 26 N. Royal St., Mobile, Ala. Room rates are $139 per night and the group code for reservations is “nasnasa.” The airport code is “MOB.”
The NASLBC was first established by a small group of concerned State Legislative Board Chairmen in 1975, and it has grown to meet the demanding needs of the membership over the past 35 years.
The NASLBC is comprised of 38 State Legislative Boards across the United States and represents thousands of hard-working members of the BLET.
