Starting today, Amtrak and NJ Transit will be running 24 trains per hour, in both directions, between New Jersey and New York – double the number that had been running since superstorm Sandy crippled operations for both rail agencies two weeks ago. Full commuter service for NJ Transit customers will not be restored for several weeks, NJ Transit said.
