NEWARK, N.J. — Amtrak and NJ Transit trains are rolling again, but passengers are facing residual delays of as long as 45 minutes.

Service was disrupted this morning in and out of New York’s Penn Station by an overhead-wire problem. Amtrak spokeswoman Tracy Connell said an NJ Transit train reported struck a wire in the south tunnel in Manhattan.

That caused delays for Amtrak trains along the Northeast Corridor. It also slowed NJ Transit service on the Northeast Corridor, Midtown Direct and North Jersey Coast Line.

Trains were using a single track in the north tube until repairs were made.

PATH is cross-honoring NJ Transit rail passes in Newark and Hoboken.
