JERSEY CITY, N.J. — NJ Transit customers can now receive updated travel information on their computer home pages, cell phones and e-mail accounts through up-to-the-minute feeds, the agency announced Wednesday.

These feeds will be sent to customers’ personal home pages through sites such as Google.

“This gives our customers more flexibility in how they receive essential travel information from us, including continuously updated service information about train, bus and light rail trips,” said NJ Transit Executive Director Richard Sarles.

After partnering with WCBS News Radio 880 to test the feeds – known as Really Simple Syndication (RSS) – NJ Transit became the first agency in the region to launch the new technology for travel alerts.
