JERSEY CITY, N.J. — NJ Transit is pulling out all the stops to encourage New Jerseyans to use mass transit during the summer.

The 2006 beach package includes round-trip rail tickets and admission to the Jersey Shore for $14.50 – from Hoboken or Newark, and $18.50 – from New York, Secaucus, and stations along the Main/Bergen and Pascack Valley lines.

Starting June 17, NJ Transit will launch weekend express service from New York and Newark, which will shave approximately 30 minutes off the standard travel time to Long Branch and Bay Head stations.

NJ Transit riders can save up to $38.09 when they purchase a package that includes express bus transportation and admission to Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari.
Horse racing fans can purchase an off-peak round-trip ticket to Monmouth Park and receive grandstand admission and a racing program for $1 plus round-trip fare.

In the family-super-saver fare, up to two children 11 and under can ride free weekends and holidays when accompanied by a paying customer from 7 p.m. Friday (or the day before a holiday) until 6 a.m. Monday (or the day after a holiday).
