NEWARK, N.J. — New NJ Transit timetables are coming, and they contain some extra North Jersey Coast Line service, including offering more evening express trains.

The new schedule takes effect Sunday and includes new late-evening express service on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines to provide more convenient travel options for riders going home from concerts, New Jersey Devils games and other events at the new Prudential Arena.

The added Coast Line service includes three new express trains to Long Branch in addition to local trains terminating in South Amboy.

Between 9 and 10:30 p.m., there will be at least two Coast Line departures per hour from New York and Newark.

Currently, NJ Transit operates one train per hour after 9 p.m.

Other changes include an additional morning peak period shuttle train from Bay Head to Long Branch, closing a 42-minute gap in service for riders between those two stops.

Riders should check the new timetables for any changes in the schedule of the trains they regularly ride.

The new timetables are available at customer service offices, online at www.njtransit.com or by calling (800) 772-2222.
