NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit train service in and out of New York City has been restored, but commuters can expect delays.
Spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett says the problem began when Amtrak was unable to close the portal bridge in Kearny.
Midtown Direct, Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains were stuck between Newark and New York’s Penn Station. Those trains are rolling, but are behind schedule.
There’s no word what caused the problem with the bridge.
