GENOA, Wisc. — BNSF Railway will not be penalized for 10 lead acid batteries found buried in the sand next to its tracks along the Mississippi River near Genoa. The batteries, which were likely left behind after the removal of an old signal system, were the only ones found during inspections of two dozen sites along 40 miles of rail, according to reports.
