ST. LOUIS — Rain-soaked railroad ties gave way in St. Louis this morning, causing firefighters to check for potential leaks of hazardous material from rail cars that tilted on the ties.
Police said no leaks had been found. But traffic was rerouted around the site, along Central Industrial Drive just east of the intersection of Vandeventer and Chouteau avenues.
The mishap was reported about 3:30 a.m., police said.
